Betty and Rosie – Adopted

These are two of the sweetest natured little girls that you could hope to find.

Betty is Rosie’s mum and she sweetly protects her little girl putting herself between you and her precious baby until she feels that she can trust you.

Whilst both girls are very, very timid they do not display any signs of aggression. Betty is the braver and more inquisitive of the two and will quickly follow you around, her little tail wagging, Rosie needs a little longer to warm up.

You will need to let them feel safe and allow them the time and space they need especially a safe place to sleep until they are ready to become social. They gravitated towards the dog crate initially but quickly left it behind for open fluffy beds.

Little pats each day and quietly spoken words will do wonders for their confidence.

They are good with other dogs but have not been cat tested, they love their food once they have settled in. Doggy toys do not seem to interest them so far but that may change over time.

Rosie does not walk on lead but Betty will walk on a lead quite well however it will take time to be able to walk them outside of the home environment. Practice in the backyard would be a great starting place.

They haven’t had any accidents inside however there is an open doggy door at the foster carers. They may need additional training if they don’t have immediate access to the garden or need to go through a dog flap

They would suit a calm, all adult household as children would overwhelm them.

They do seem to get very excited when you come home but it will take these beauties a couple of months to feel totally at ease but their love will totally be worth it.

Medical Notes
Betty has a grade 1 heart murmur.
Rosie has a swollen teat which the vet has advised is hormonal after her desexing and should go down over the next month.
